• Short Bio
  • #WEATNU began summer of 2014 as a movement for the DIY/Electronic - avant-garde, scene, encompassing, indie rock, post-punk, and later transitioning to experimental lo-fi- hip-hop. We are - Radio | Label | Magazine - We are the New Underground. https://weatnu.com

#WEATNU is growing and that means you will grow with us. Some of you have grown with us since the start of that day in the Summer of 2014.

We're expanding the right way, and without partners, but with additions to our own eco-system, we have other communities plugin and will do more of this in the future.

While doing so, we exist as radio, label, and magazine. These tools all from within our movement are vast when you zoom out and take a birds eye view.

As a movement and machine We are the New Underground functions to empower the artist to freely display their msuic to a place where it may have found 'dead ears' but fear not, what we have created will become even more helpful to you.

We believe in giving these things freely to the artist and will continue to do so for years to come. There was a large hole before (wet new) #WEATNU existed, and that hole has been filled.

In the year of 2014 - We are the New Underground set out to create a digital music scene, just the same as artists in the real world playing venues. Its vision was that artists online could be their own venue, and a movement would be set on fire and not be put out. - I believe this starting to happen.

The DIY scene needed a place to prove it existed. You're that circle that was hidden away from the internet, scattered across endless websites and far to see places, even, obscure forums, crowded YouTube, old school twitter, SoundCloud lost at in the sea of artists among Bandcamp and the like..

These artists are the lifeblood of our organization, we have become a friend to the artist these 12 years. It has been a privilege to help them. Even as an artist myself, #WEATNU will help me find others to listen, just as it will help you find others as well. Thank you for believing in what we do.

The DIY scene is a new underground, a digital one. One that has existed since the internet was born, where artists are hidden away. Some are greatly talented in that scene, and that's important to us.

We are radio | label | magazine - We are the New Underground - since 2014.

( And this part is only for those in this website
I believe because you are coming back to us - it is no accident, you're fulfilling what we set out to do. )

The coming 'Artist directory' has become a passion no an obsession with me - the WEATNU Hub was the social gathering, but the Directory is the artist's placement center for all to see. Once this is done, We are the New Underground, will have reached its 12 year apex as a movement, as a function for the artist, a needed thing.

The movement that set-out to 'level the playing field' for the DIY /Indie scene, and free to them, will have succeeded in all it attempted.

We needed a radio, label and magazine, a structure and building to house these individuals. Everything from that moment forward will work and function directly from our two websites, weatnu. com and weatnurecords. com

Just like the music industry, we're the DIY indiestry, - We are the New Underground. - Formed Summer 2014.

We are the New Underground is celebrating its 12th year as a movement, as the formation of #WEATNU and all we do. In commemoration of that 12th year from the Summer of 2014, we are dedicating and posting the Roots of #WEATNU while mentioning their names and music they are working on. This also will go in phases from year to year, and into our 2nd phase 2018 and beyond.
We are very excited about this, as we approach our Artist directory which will include our roots first and give them access as artists to add their music and profiles from weatnu.com, afterword an article to be written directly from our WEATNU Digital Magazine will be published. Without these artists we wouldn't be here.

A time capsule 10 years ago

This year we are finding people needing us more, as our e-mails, both WEATNU Records and WEATNU [OUR] are lighting up.
New artists are joining the label and more people are sending music to the radio.
Some of this comes from leaving breadcrumbs and some of this comes from the reactivation of our weatnu.com website.
It's all working to the benefit to the artist, the #WEATNU Machine is fully operational with new features to an old idea.
Our artist registry will soon be the core of all PR for the artist - free.

We are Radio | Label | Magazine - We are the New Underground

weatnu.com is 30% ready as each part is restored - this is exciting to have it return to all its former glory. An exact duplicate, from backups and added to new technology, giving us access to all the artists from then and the start of new ones. These artists are the roots of #WEATNU
