By not having anything to compete against (leaving the internet, social media Spotify, lack of care against YouTube.) I have nothing to worry about.
Music was always my friend, competing is my enemy, as I no longer have competition, I have happiness, and my music returns. That's more important to me.
The internet is a distraction against me, what we need is a place to drop music and forget about what others say.
I see in various places such as FB, Threads, and IG places that remind me of the work I'm not getting done, the songs I haven't finished, but as I exit those places I do get my work done. The radio is the place to drop music without others telling you how they feel. We chase fame and acceptance our entire life and leave behind the music we first loved. I can't do that any longer.
Dan PruettWell stated. I feel much the same way. I've still got to bite the bullet and send a bunch of my new songs to the WEATNU OUR and I will when I have time. A great relief and satisfaction, I'm sure, will come from doing just that. Then I will feel the freedom to begin writing and recording brand new music.
Almark *thank you, I was looking over the ip logs yesterday and found that a lot of people over the years listen to our radios.
Being honest gets me in trouble with people - I lose friends.
and0rod madnessdjthey're the ones not worth having, aren't they?
Almark *shallow people have no depth.
and0rod madnessdjpeople tend to hate on people when they say what they dont want to hear, then they make you suffer for being a pleaser you cant win!
and0rod madnessdjsorry about that comment it was a bit, mad. I find that the average person is a psycho anyway. I want nothing to do with it...
Almark *it's a free website sir.
no one says you can't say that, that mess happens on FB.
AI text systems are become seriously annoying, they patronize you - it's a machine sheesh.
The movement of #WEATNU or its community is being repaired. Thanks to sending out 322 emails to past and present artists over at the radio email, people are realizing we still exist. PR music firms of different kinds use to send us music frequently. They will again. we have one already and another is coming.
I grew up in my early adult years in the late 90s and remember Internet radio when it started. WEATNU [OUR] hails back to that era, and so does #WEATNU in general. It's what draws people to us, nothing stands in the way, just music.
I can't believe I'm saying this...
after hearing what people are doing with AI music I have to say one thing, if it moves you, it's music.
We have been either guitarists or electronic artists our whole lives and yet we embrace music no matter how it's made.
We know that AI music is made from using real music, trained on models and produced using prompts. Some people are mixing those made stems into a songs and making themselves rich. MIDI was ridiculed stating that it would take away from real artists - It did not. What you are hearing is hype from people in all circles. Lately #WEATNU [OUR] took in an artist who creates really amazing sounding music. It doesn't mean it will take in all artists, I'm very selective about such things.
You may not even realize it but it's AI. We had a heart felt convo about AI and the artist. I mentioned to him that I believe you are a musician are you not? It appears he's been a musician but using AI to craft his works.
Are we so callused to refuse people who are kind to us in their music passions, I think it's best to weight things. There is one side that uses this technology to make stuff off the cuff with just random lines of prompting and there are people who make it as an extension of their soul. Let's open the door to people who are in this criteria. I believe some of you will agree with this essay on this.
#WEATNU was intended as an idea to help not only musicians but myself as an artist with them.
People won't realize how important #WEATNU was until it's gone.
