Almark *soon as i have some peace, I'll listen :)

Almark *excellent new music, there are early NIN elements happening.

Almark *shared on our substack https://substack.com/@weatnurecords

JuZ ShoWAlmark, I am so glad you love the new song. I no longer have Substack. But I really apprecaite you sharing. That's means so much to me. Thank you for your support

Almark *welcome it's really all I can do now, we left everything else.

For the past 5 months I have been working on Album No 2.

So Far I have done 2
One is a cover, and one if an original.
I also have 3 works in progress, One of them is almost ready for mixing and mastering.

I am feeling pretty good about how things are moving along. Now it's time to keep on grinding.

Here we have a human music producer in their natural habitat.

Notice the carefully constructed workstation. Two ultrawide monitors display what appears to be a digital audio project, a landscape of waveforms, mixer channels, and tiny buttons that only the producer themselves fully understands.

The human producer gestures proudly toward the screen, as if to say, "Yes, I moved that snare drum three milliseconds to the left, and yes, it absolutely matters."

Observe the environment. A piano keyboard rests beneath the monitors, decorative lights glow softly in the background, and personal artwork adorns the walls. This is not the sterile workspace of a machine. It is a creative nest, built over years of experimentation, persistence, and the occasional existential crisis over a bassline.

Now, many passing observers may wonder if the music emerging from this habitat is generated by artificial intelligence.

    A reasonable question.

    Yet the evidence suggests otherwise.

AI does not spend hours staring at a project file wondering why the chorus suddenly sounds wrong after sounding perfect ten minutes earlier.

AI does not rewrite lyrics because a single word feels emotionally dishonest.

AI does not record take after take, edit videos frame by frame, build a personal brand, run two businesses, perform live, or spend an entire evening debating whether the kick drum should be 0.5 decibels louder.

    No.

This particular specimen creates music the traditional way.

    Through patience.

    Through skill.

Through countless creative decisions invisible to the listener.

And through an unwavering refusal to quit when a project becomes difficult.

What we are witnessing here is not artificial generation.

    It is craftsmanship.

You can find her music pretty much everywhere... except Spotify.

Almark *next time someone says to you, it was made with AI. Tell them this, people used technology to copy real people and stole their soul and put that into AI.

JuZ ShoWYeah, you know about the guy who told me to stick my AI music up my own ass. I said something like All my music is made by a human - me. Just the cover is ai generated. Please don't be cruel. and then I blocked him. This guy was another musician, who didn't even bother to undergo any research despite me leaving everything about myself out on the internet.

Almark *when we judge, we become the judge, jury and executioner

If I had my way I would buy a van or and old bus, have it decked out with a recording studio, with everything that I needed, and go off the grid for a while just so I could finish all my projects.

    Almark *like Megadeth did.

    Spotify is the worst!
This will make non-users glad they are not on it.
They have introduced a new feature that may yet again steal from hard working artists.

Spotify is developing a new AI-powered music feature that will allow users to create remixes and alternate versions of existing songs directly within the Spotify platform. The system is designed to work with participating artists and licensed music catalogs, creating a more controlled and officially approved environment for AI-generated music experimentation.

The feature will enable users to:
    - Generate AI-powered remixes of existing songs
    - Create alternate versions of tracks in different styles or moods
    - Produce mashups combining multiple songs
    - Generate AI-assisted cover versions using licensed material

A lot of artists are upset because the feature touches a very sensitive nerve in music culture:
    Ownership, creativity, identitiy and survival.

here’s concern that human remixers, producers, and session musicians could be sidelined in favour of cheaper, faster AI-generated versions of songs, which could ultimately affect creative job opportunities. Many also feel uneasy about losing control over their own work, since AI systems and even fans could generate alternate versions of their music that shift the meaning or emotional tone of the original. On top of that, there are ongoing ethical concerns about whether AI systems were trained on existing music with proper consent and compensation, which makes some artists feel like their work is being used as raw material without full fairness. Combined with existing frustrations about low streaming payouts and algorithm-driven discovery on platforms like Spotify, the introduction of AI remixing feels to some artists like another step toward music becoming automated content rather than a human-centred artform.

Despite all this being licenced I personaly would not trust a company that continuously steals royalties from artists, and puts their hard work under threat. Another thing I know I will not be participating in.

JuZ ShoWWhats worse is that Universal Music Group are all in on it.

Jason NorwoodMajor labels have been diminishing the value of music for decades. No surprises there. Not that I have a lot of my output on streaming services in general (I'd rather funnel people through to Bandcamp or even Subvert, once I get a handle on that). Spotify just needs to implode, or something. You know, in a way that doesn't destroy indie music more than Spotify already has.
Funny thing: I saw someone try to remix a Sabrina Carpenter track and upload it to SoundCloud, where they got....smacked down by a UMG copyright ding.

JuZ ShoWYeah we need to hack their servers or something haha

The one thing I noticed about the underground music community is that it is becoming every man for themselves. You post a new release - you're no longer heard. or You're not being properly supported (not even by your longterm friends). Your posts just becomes a meaningless number on the newsfeed. That being said there are alot of bands unwillingly playing favorites with other bands. I am not going to be expecting much for the future. So I continue to only concentrate on only what I am doing.

JuZ ShoWYeah I heard you are not impressed with subvert - So I havent built my account there since before it launched. the fact that they released way too many artists in so many days is huge - Its like they are already starting to become a part of a system.

Almark *20k is shit man, that's just dumb, who can stack up against it. Because of this I am done, I am just done. The internet is so silly it's hard to fathom it. We need small groups and tiny gatherings, the internet won't allow, I'm over it.

Almark *Since you are invested in my blogs, thank you for posting, I feel al little exposed but people need to know you let them know with my latest.
Read the pattern this has been happening with me for years. Even when I had a little success in 2017 https://synthoelectro.wordpress.com/2017/07/23/peace-in-releasing-music-silently/

The truth is that you cannot blow up anymore. You'd have to meet someone who is already rich and famous who believes in your vision and will help you blow up.

Almark *I know, you cant' even find a small following.

Almark *this leads me to think about the song Gave up by NIN, yes that's exactly what this is. Still cannot fix this broken machine, it took you to make me realize, it took you to make me see the light. We rely on the internet Juz, we are hyper focused to use it. The elite have purposely pushed the world into it, and it has bars and gates, its' a prison in the large websites. Because art and artists need a place to spread their music, we either walk away from society or give in. You know what i've done, I'm just going to release without speaking.

I am going to get back to filming JuZ Reacts on YouTube as soon as next week!
We have 10 new submissions in the wings.

If you are still interested in becoming a part of the shows you can submit your video at the following URL. It's free.

Almark *it's an old video in the US during the 80s, that's where this comes from, it's a very old joke about the commercial, I guess Jason got it up in Canada too
